About Goodwill Industries of New Mexico

Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is a local nonprofit organization that provides free programs and services to New Mexicans in need. We help them find jobs in the community and gain access to specialized social services, all at no cost to them. We are CARF-accredited, which is evidence of our commitment to continually improve services, encourage feedback, and serve the community. We employ more than 450 staff members across New Mexico.

What We Do

Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is more than just a thrift store. We're a local, nonprofit agency that helps New Mexicans find jobs and gain access to specialized social services.

Our programs and services are funded primarily by revenue generated through the sale of donated clothing, housewares, furniture and more through our stores.

We also focus on green initiatives. At Goodwill, we always say that we were "green before going green was cool." We sustain an extensive recycling program that keeps items out of landfills. On average, we recycle more than 10 million pounds of items each year to help protect our environment. Learn more about our sustainability initiatives

What We Do

Every time you donate items at a donation center, arrange for an at-home donation pick-up or make a purchase in one of our store, you're helping someone secure community employment or gain access to social services.

Who We Serve

We serve New Mexicans in search of employment or skills training and those in need of specialized social services. That may include veterans and homeless or near-homeless veterans, those needing to brush up on their employment basics or just about any New Mexican seeking employment.

Most of our program participants are referred from social service agencies. Others submit an application for services on our website or walk in and ask for assistance.

Over the years, Goodwill Industries of New Mexico has developed a network of partners, including for-profit and nonprofit organizations that refer individuals in need of our services.

How We Fund It

100% of the money made from the sale of your donation stays with Goodwill and in the State of New Mexico. This revenue is used to fund our programs and services that are offered free of charge to qualifying New Mexicans.

GINM also maintains an extensive recycling program whereby we create income from donated items that either fail to be sold in our stores or are not in sellable condition. This includes recycled electronics and computers, recyclable materials like plastic, paper, cardboard and metal, as well as textiles and shoes.

In addition, we actively seek grant funding from foundations, government agencies and corporations. We also receive generous financial contributions from private individuals and donor partners.

Why It Matters

Goodwill makes a difference in the community by helping New Mexicans gain the skills and training they need to secure stable, community-based employment.

We help thousands of individuals each year to stand on their own two feet and experience the power of work!
