Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is NOT a for-profit business. We don’t hide behind the name of a nonprofit partnership that pays only pennies on the dollar for donations. Instead, we are a local nonprofit with thrift stores that exist to fund the programs and services we offer free to New Mexicans. 100% of the money made from the sale of your donation stays with Goodwill and in the State of New Mexico. Plus, 88 cents of every dollar we spend is used to fund our programs and services.

That means every time you make a donation or a purchase in one of our stores, you help someone secure community employment or gain access to social services.

Unfortunately, not all organizations have the same community-minded focus. Many donation bins in New Mexico with nonprofit designations actually benefit for-profit businesses. That’s why it’s important to be informed before you make a donation.
