Our Trainers
Bosco, Assistant Director
“In this intensive workshop, we will teach you the skills to begin a career as a production assistant. This class will help you network, feel confident, and learn Walkie and set duties. We’re here to train eager, self-sufficient, and willing to learn students…it’s quite an opportunity, and not a class to be missed!” |
Forrest, Assistant Director
"The goal of this program is to better prepare graduates for their first day on-set than if they were to go to a four-year film program." |
Beatriz, Assistant Director
“This program gives New Mexicans the tools to find an entry-level job on a film set that would not happen otherwise. It's really great to be able to participate in a program that's focused on finding employment for New Mexicans.” |
Vinny, Assistant Director
“This program will give you the basic knowledge needed for your first day on set as a production assistant. It’s two days packed with lessons, from lingo to lunch protocols. We will also discuss the more technical aspects of a day on a film set. If you’re eager to begin a route to working in film and television, you should register for this class." |
What Program Graduates Say
"I think all of the exercises were extremely worthwhile. The walkies, the tent setups, the lock ups, the timecards, interpreting call sheets and scene requirements from sides, the resume reviews, it was all fantastic. I am extremely grateful this class exists, and I hope it will continue to be available for individuals looking to break into the industry. A big thanks to everyone involved for their time and efforts! The Goodwill location is perfect, and the facilities are in immaculate condition." (Training participant, 4/18/2023)
“First of all, I want to thank you for the PA training program. Fortunately, I was able to land a PA job at $10.50 an hour with the film Robots. Two days into the production I was given a spot on the Grip crew and got an increase in pay to $23.15 an hour for two weeks after that. And now I’m on the production called Dark Winds as a prop maker/construction, making $29.69 an hour. Thank you once again for this program. It really did help get me get in the door to a new career. Also, I want to thank the trainers Bosco, Forrest, Eric and Nick they are awesome. Hope this helps keep the program going and brings more jobs to New Mexico.” - Luigi
"I think the greatest strengths of the class are the instructors. They have been there; they know what is required of individuals that work in the industry and depth of the content is fantastic. The scope of the course is broad and that is a positive. I would always rather know more about more parts of the on-set experience and industry than less. It prepares the mind for scenarios and expectations that will be encountered. It helps address the not knowing what you don't know, and the big picture allows the mind to shape the questions required to be successful." (Training participant, 4/18/2023)
“I was hired on as an office PA for a two-week stint for BIG SKY S2, but was eventually moved to full time office PA, and then was promoted again to Production Secretary. Thank you all so much for the incredible skills that I learned from your training. The information allowed me to move up in the production office and continues to allow me to grow and move forward with the trust of my team. Thank you all so much!” - Kelsey
