As a leading provider of job training programs, Goodwill® is dedicated to helping serve those who have served our nation. In communities throughout New Mexico, Goodwill strives to provide programs and services to veterans, allowing them to re-enter civilian life as seamlessly as possible. One of those programs is Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF). The SSVF program assists very-low income veteran families stabilize their housing situation and much more. “The SSVF program focuses on veterans and their family members who are most at risk for homelessness or who are already homeless,” said President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of New Mexico, Mary Best. Goodwill’s SSVF program provides eligible veteran families with the following: Case management, community referrals and assistance with VA benefits. The program also helps veterans and their families move into or remain in permanent housing with third-party payments for move-in costs, rent, security deposits, moving/storage, utilities that are past due, utility deposits, child care and much more. All services are free to those who qualify.
